| The Laughing Horses started in 2002 when I was working as an equine massage therapist for various trainers. One day, after finishing with my horse, I went down the row of stables giving each of the horses a special homemade treat. The horses all stuck their heads out of their stalls tossing their heads and smacking their lips for a long time. It looked like they were laughing, and that’s how I developed the name “The Laughing Horses." We used my neighbor Wyn’s horses as taste testers and we got rave reviews! Now Wyn and I sell our Bit Snackers in many fine tack stores. |

When I was young I grew up
in the country and had a horse, but when I went
off to college I sold him and that was the end of
horses until my daughters became interested about
10 years ago. We have 3 beautiful horses that are
our babies, they LOVE the cookies. Chip will bow
and do tricks, we call him the cookie monster.
Both of my daughters have been members of Pony
Club and every Saturday morning while we were
testing the cookies I would take them to the Pony
Club and give them to all the horses. The response
was great and Holly and I began baking! In the
beginning we baked in Holly's kitchen and then
moved to a bakery where we baked the cookies
ourselves. The orders began to grow and it was
hard to keep up, so now we have a bakery making
the cookies for us. It's been a fun experience and
its a great feeling to watch the horses eat the
cookies and quickly ask for more! |
